Role
Originates first mortgages for sale on the secondary market. Solicits new mortgage business, maintains good internal
and external working relationships, and promotes the organizations products and services.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
1. 70% Interviews mortgage loan applicants and analyzes financial condition and earnings
available for debt repayment. Evaluates mortgage loan requests to determine if buyer,
property, and loan conditions meet bank and/or secondary market regulations. Explains
loan programs to customers, evaluates their needs and recommends loan options.
Approves or rejects loan application, requests additional information and prepares
documentation for denied or withdrawn loans. Establishes terms and conditions of an
approves loan reviews with customer. Requests and receive necessary documentation
from customer, orders appraisal, title work, and flood on the property. Prepares and/or
reviews all loan documents for completeness and accuracy.

2. 25% Maintains contacts and good working relationships with realtors and builders to assure a
favorable image of the organization and to provide information regarding current loan
policies and procedures. Represent bank as appropriate in its relationships with
customers, community groups, civic organizations, other financial institutions and similar
groups.

3. 5% Receives inquiries from prospective customers regarding all non secondary market
products and services and refers to appropriate personnel for assistance to ensure quality
customer service.

4. — Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank
Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills Experience Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions. Education/Certifications/Licenses A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school. Incumbents are required to maintain their registration active, and current, with the National Mortgage Licensing System throughout their employment. Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be effective in the position. Work involves indepth discussions about personal, sensitive or highly confidential matters with customers, direct and indirect reports, outside vendors or company personnel. Communications frequently involve motivating, influencing and advising others on matters of significance.

Physical Requirements
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 5 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including CRTs, typewriters, telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested
by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the
organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and
quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
